Yan T. (Charles) Tsang, CFA
Mr. Tsang has been engaged in the business valuation profession since 1977. As a Senior Vice President at Trenwith Valuation, LLC, Mr. Tsang is responsible for preparing going concern valuation studies of public and private companies and conducting due diligence for a broad variety of purposes including corporate planning, stock transfers, purchase price allocations and the preparation of expert witness testimony.
Prior to joining Trenwith, Mr. Tsang was a Senior Manager in the Valuation Services Group of BDO Seidman, LLC in New York. At BDO, Mr. Tsang supervised and performed valuations for corporate planning, litigation support, marital dissolutions, corporate restructuring, gift and estate tax planning, FAS 141(purchase price allocation) and FAS 142 (goodwill impairment test) purposes. Prior to BDO, Mr. Tsang was a Senior Manager at KPMG Peat Marwick where he handled complex business and intangible asset valuations of privately and publicly held companies in the manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, computer software, Internet, media, financial and service industries. Prepared valuation studies for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations, gift and estate tax planning, corporate planning, tax and accounting purposes. Prior to joining KPMG, Mr. Tsang was a Director of Statistical Services at Main Hurdman responsible for providing analytical support to professionals in the valuation group.
Mr. Tsang graduated with a MBA in Investment Finance from NYU Graduate School of Business in 1981, and received a BBA in accounting from Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York in 1976.
Mr. Tsang is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a member of the CFA Institute and of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He is a fellow of the Financial Analysts Federation and a candidate of the American Society of Appraisers.
