Vanita M. Spaulding, CFA, ASA

Vanita M. Spaulding, CFA, ASA is a Managing Director of Trenwith Valuation, LLC, with oversight responsibility for the Western Regional business valuation group, and one of three members of the National Leadership Committee for Trenwith Valuation, LLC. With more than 24 years of business valuation experience, Ms. Spaulding has a diverse background in a myriad of valuation projects including allocation of purchase price, pre-acquisition financing, merger and acquisition pricing, marital dissolution, federal estate tax and gift tax, dissident stockholders, breach of contract, lost profits, personal injury losses, ESOP formation and compliance, and eminent domain.

Ms. Spaulding is qualified as an expert to perform litigation support services, and has appeared as an expert witness before the Superior Courts of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, as well as the American Arbitration Association. Ms. Spaulding is active in the American Society of Appraisers as a course instructor and developer, and served as the president of the Los Angeles Chapter in 1994. Ms. Spaulding is also a past member of the International Business Valuation Committee, and is currently the chairman of the Advanced Business Valuation Conference to be held in October 2007.

Prior to joining Trenwith Group, she was a Partner with Gursey, Schneider & Company, LLP implementing and leading the business valuation practice there. Prior to merging her practice with Gursey, Schneider, Ms. Spaulding was the owner of V.M. Spaulding & Associates, a firm specializing in business valuation; lost profits and damages litigation; and discount studies. Prior to the formation of V.M. Spaulding & Associates, Ms. Spaulding was the manager of a financial valuation group at the Los Angeles office of Deloitte & Touche.

Ms. Spaulding is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers in the discipline of business valuation. She is the Past-President of the Los Angeles Chapter of American Society of Appraisers, having previously held chapter positions of Vice President, Secretary, Program Chair and Business Valuation Chair. Ms. Spaulding is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), receiving her Charter in 1990.

Ms. Spaulding received her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Northridge in 1987. She also received her Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and minor in Economics, from California State University, Northridge in 1984 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
