Job Description:

The firm’s Orange County office is seeking an associate to be an integral part of their investment banking team. The position will be focused on creating analytics and industry research used in conjunction with marketing the firm’s advisory services, as well as assisting in the execution of investment banking transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting and valuation methodologies and will possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will be expected to research new and prospective clients, while analyzing their business model, create tailored pitch books, as well as compose financial models and offering memorandum. As a key member of execution teams the candidate will gain in depth exposure to the financials and operations of companies in a wide range of industries and to the processing of investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and private placements on behalf of these companies. The associate candidate will also be called upon to assist with marketing transaction opportunities to appropriate strategic and institutional investors.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Two or more years experience with an investment bank or similar entity
  • MBA degree with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing financial analysis in ExcelTM, creating financial models and pro forma statements, conducting industry research, writing information memoranda, and creating PowerpointTM pitch materials
  • Well versed in various valuation techniques, including discounted cash flows, peer company analysis, comparable transaction analysis, and balance sheet analysis
