Tangible Asset Valuation Associate

Trenwith carefully pursues assignments to ensure that the reports provided will withstand scrutiny of client's audit firms and the various governmental agencies who review valuation reports.
Job Description:
The firm's Boston office is seeking an associate to be an integral part of their fixed asset, infrastructure and leasing practice. The position will be focused on research, due diligence and providing supporting documentation for valuation reports provided to a wide and varied client base. The individual will also work in conjunction with supporting the firms various valuation assignments.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting and valuation methodologies and will possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate should have intellectual curiosity and a desire to research and understand a broad range of technical issues involving various industries as well as types of tangible assets. As valuation involves cost, market and income approaches to valuation, the candidate's knowledge of in-depth financial issues would be highly beneficial. An understanding of various industries and equipment types will also be necessary.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Two or more years experience in finance industry, specifically in the area of valuation
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Finance
- Working knowledge of the various valuation techniques, including discounted cash flows, peer company analysis, comparable transaction analysis, and balance sheet analysis
